ATI Performance Products, Inc. celebrates
its 40th anniversary in 2001. The celebration will last all
year with anniversary specials for racers everywhere, new
40th anniversary tee shirts, and a 40th anniversary logo on
the ASA stockcar that it proudly sponsors.
ATI began in a small 3,000 square foot garage in 1961 and
steadily grew from there. ATI earned a reputation for its
custom-design work, attention to detail, and rigorous testing
under race conditions. By staying true to these basic principles,
Jim Beattie, ATI's owner and founder, built a loyal customer
base that is still with him today. Motorsports became a way
for ATI to showcase its products. From Jim's sportsman dragster
of the 60s to the Black Magic Top Fuel Funny Cars of the 70s,
ATI's commitment to better transmission and torque converter
solutions through competition still continues.
In 1984, ATI sold its first harmonic damper using the same
principles that made its automatic transmission and torque
converter lines so successful. By designing dampers that could
keep high performance engines running faster and longer at
high RPMs, ATI gained a following among circle track, road
course, and performance engine builders.
As ATI celebrates its 40th year in operation, the company
is committed to delivering the same high quality performance
components to racers worldwide for another 40 years. Call
