ATI’s Chris Rini had a great start
to his 2013 campaign this past weekend. Using a new nitrous combo, new shocks,
new ATI T400 3-Speed Outlaw Series transmission, updated ATI Outlaw converter
– and with limited testing, Chris arrived at Piedmont Dragway for
the BIG DOG Shootout on Thursday April 11, and took #1 Qualifier with a
3.94 @ 187 mph and won the event with a 3.96 over Danny Perry.
Fresh from his BIG DOG win, Chris headed south to Georgia for the NMCA
race, where he again took #1 Qualifier in Pro-Street with his first 1/4-mile
pass of the season with a 6.03. ATI T400 SuperCase customer and owner
of M&M Transmissions, Mark Micke, qualified #1 with
a 6.39 @ 234 using in Super Street - becoming the first NMCA Super Street
10.5W car in the 30's.
Unfortunately, the weather would not cooperate and the event was called
with Rini in the Semi-Final round and Micke in the Finals. Remarkably,
the ATI sponsored '69 Buck powered Chevy Camaro was low for the round
in EVERY session of eliminations in BOTH events!
